Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Wrexham may struggle to upset Sheffield United, who had a man sent off in the original tie, but they can at the very least get on the scoresheet.

Sheffield United vs Wrexham Predictions

  • Both teams scored 2+ goals in three of Wrexham’s last five games.
  • Paul Mullin is top of the FA Cup scoring charts with seven goals from four games.
  • Sheffield United ran out winners in five of their last six home games.

Sheffield United can flip the script

Although Hollywood owner Ryan Reynolds joked that his club, Wrexham, had green lit the sequel following their famous 3-3 draw in the first match, travelling to Bramall Lane to take on the Premier League-bound Blades is a different proposition altogether.

Three divisions and a gulf in class separate these sides in the footballing pyramid and the Blades will surely be able to let that shine through having avoided defeat in every competitive outing since November last year (W8, D3).

However, the magic of the cup is well and truly alive as Wrexham shown by earning a replay and for that reason, we’re avoiding the win markets here. Goalfests are often the order of the day when Wrexham take to the field, shown recently with BTTS landing in seven of their last eight games.

Paul Mullin can stake his claim for Wales

Currently leading the FA Cup scoring charts with seven goals – including one in the reverse – Paul Mullin could be in and amongst the goals here to hold up Wrexham’s end of the bargain. There are growing calls for him to become the first ever non-league player to represent Wales at international level!

We’re backing BTTS in this encounter, although the voice of reason suggests this should realistically be a straightforward win for the hosts, which we will cover for smaller stakes on a 4-2 correct scoreline.
