Sheffield United to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Sheffield United are unbeaten in six games (including pre-season) and can prove too strong for Wrexham in a match that should contain goals. The Blades conceded 104 goals in the Premier League last season, while four of Wrexham’s last six games (including friendlies) have yielded at least four goals.

Sheffield United 3-1

Reason for tip

Sheffield United’s last two home meetings with Wrexham have ended in 3-1 victories for the hosts and they can repeat that trick on Tuesday as they look to extend their unbeaten run against the Welsh club to six matches.

Sheffield United vs Wrexham Predictions

  • Sheffield United have won five and lost none of their last six games (including pre-season)
  • Seven of Wrexham’s 10 league defeats last season came on the road
  • The last two meetings between these two sides at Bramall Lane have ended in 3-1 victories for the hosts

Blades should prove cut above

Sheffield United have seemingly recovered from last season’s dismal relegation from the Premier League, as they went unbeaten in pre-season before opening their Championship campaign with a 2-0 win at Preston on Friday night.

Chris Wilder’s side are unbeaten in six matches (including friendlies), winning five of those and should prove too strong for Wrexham, who also opened the new campaign with a victory, beating Wycombe 3-2.

Wrexham secured promotion from League Two last season, but seven of their 10 league defeats did come on the road and they are without a win in any of their last five meetings with the Blades, going down 3-1 on their last visit to Bramall Lane in the FA Cup two seasons ago.

Goals to flow at Bramall Lane

That FA Cup win means Sheff Utd have now won their last two home meetings with Wrexham by a 3-1 scoreline and history could repeat itself on Tuesday, with both teams looking better going forward than they are defensively.

The Blades shipped a record 104 goals in the Premier League last season so are certainly vulnerable defensively, while four of Wrexham’s last six games (including friendlies) have yielded at least four goals.
