Las Palmas vs Celta Vigo Betting Tips

Both sides were involved in the Copa Del Rey in midweek but had contrasting results. Celta Vigo were stunning 3-2 winners away to Atletico Madrid to cause the shock of the round and progress into the last four with Pablo Hernández scoring twice. It was the end of the road though for Las Palmas who were beaten 1-0 at home by Valencia but league survival has always been their principal focus this season so they won’t be too devastated.

Neither side have been in great form in the league of late. Celta Vigo’s Champions League challenge is fading given they’ve lost 4 of their last 5 matches. Last weekend they were really poor and lost 3-0 at struggling Rayo Vallecano so this could be another tricky game for them despite their performance at the Vicente Calderon.

Las Palmas have only taken 2 points from their last 4 league matches and have slipped back in to the bottom three as a result. They have been involved in some lively games though and both teams have scored in 4 of their last 5 league matches and 6 of their last 8 games in all competitions.

Celta Vigo games also tend to involve a few goals and they have the worst defensive record in the top 12 but one of the best goalscoring records in the division. Therefore backing both teams to score here at 5/6 might be a smart move.

Las Palmas are quite strong at home and all of their 4 wins in La Liga this term have been at the Estadio de Gran Canaria. With Celta Vigo faltering a bit in the league at least, the hosts could grind out an important win here and can be backed to win 2-1 at 9/1.
