Wales -1

Reason for tip

Wales’ results perhaps haven’t matched their performances of late as they have been creating chances without managing to take them. A trip to minnows Latvia looks like a good opportunity to get back to winning ways, and if they grab an early goal they can win beat a -1 handicap against a side who were thrashed 5-0 by Croatia earlier this week.

Wales 3-0

Reason for tip

A 3-0 win for Wales appeals as Latvia have conceded at least three goals in three of their last five games, while three of Wales’ last five wins have come to nil.

Brennan Johnson To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Brennan Johnson has made a disrupted start to the season after swapping Nottingham Forest for Tottenham but he will be the focal point of the Welsh attack on Monday and as such looks a good contender to grab a goal.

Latvia vs Wales Predictions

  • Wales won the reverse fixture 1-0 but created enough chances to win by a bigger margin.
  • Latvia have lost all four of their qualifiers.
  • Latvia were hammered 5-0 by Croatia on Friday.

Wales looking for crucial win

Wales’ hopes of reaching a third successive European Championships are hanging by a thread but they can at least secure a much-needed victory when they head to Latvia on Monday.

The Dragons began their Euro 2024 bid with an encouraging draw with Croatia and they claimed a 1-0 home win over Latvia, but back-to-back defeats to Armenia and Turkey mean they are playing catch-up.

Wales can win with room to spare

Wales only won 1-0 when these sides met in Cardiff but the margin of victory could have been greater had they taken their chances.

Rob Page’s men come into this game after a 0-0 draw with a good South Korea side but again they should probably have won that fixture based on the opportunities they created.

Latvia have lost all four of their games and were thrashed 5-0 by Croatia on Friday, and if Wales perform as they did against South Korea they should be able to win with room to spare here and an away win with a -1 handicap appeals for our main bet.

Johnson can add to international haul

Tottenham’s new signing Brennan Johnson has managed just two goals in 22 games for Wales but looks a contender to add to that tally on Monday.

Johnson is yet to get off the mark for the season but should come into this game in confident mood after completing a big move from Nottingham Forest, and he should be rested for this tie as he is yet to make his Spurs debut and only featured for 45 minutes against the South Koreans.

A 3-0 win for Wales looks a reasonable correct score prediction as Latvia have conceded at least three goals in three of their last five games, while three of Wales’ last five wins have come to nil.
