Lazio to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Lazio have won four of their last six home Serie A matches while Frosinone have lost their last six away league games. Goals should be at a premium, relatively speaking, as fewer than four have been registered in six of Frosinone’s eight road games in Serie A and seven of Lazio’s eight home contests.

Lazio 2-1

Reason for tip

Lazio rarely do more than they have to, with three of their last four home wins being by the minimum 1-0 scoreline. However, Frosinone rarely shut up shop away from home and have scored in four of their last five trips. A 2-1 scoreline might suffice for the home side here.

Valentin Castellanos To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Taty Castellanos arrived in Rome with a burgeoning reputation as a goalscorer, but he has found it hard to get regular minutes. That could change with Ciro Immobile’s injury and the Argentine has the second-highest non-penalty xG of Lazio’s squad, despite playing only a third of the minutes.

Lazio look like good things

Lazio look like a good thing to see off one of Serie A’s worst away teams when they play host to Frosinone at Stadio Olimpico on Friday.

Maurizio Sarri’s men will have to do without top scorer Ciro Immobile, who was injured in their 2-0 win at Empoli before Christmas, but they have a burgeoning talent in reserve.

Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos has made sporadic appearances this season, but is yet to show why there was so much excitement about his summer arrival from Girona. But Immobile’s injury should give him an extended run in the side and the arrival of Frosinone in the capital a chance to mark his mark quickly.

Canaries are rarely on song away from home

Castellanos scored 13 La Liga goals last term and his career still appears to be on an upward trajectory. The underlying numbers also tell a tale of a forward who is getting into positions to score goals.

Friday’s clash is likely to feature a few as Frosinone have not been known to shut up shop on their travels. The Canaries have lost their last six road assignments, but have scored in four of them.

I Blancocelesti to win and both teams to score offers a good way in here, but backing Lazio to win with fewer than four goals in the game appeals too. Sarri’s team have not featured in a game with more than three goals for over two months – a trend that looks more likely to continue during Immobile’s absence.
