Leeds vs Blackburn Betting Tips

Steve Evans has made a solid start to his reign at Leeds by drawing both his opening games, which were both away from home at Fulham and Bolton. It is at Elland Road where Leeds have really been struggling this season though and the new boss would dearly love to get off to winning ways and end a Leeds run of 11 Championship games without a win on home soil.

A new manager always has an early effect on his squad and a change in philosophy and routine might just bring about a different result this time. Blackburn aren’t the toughest of opponents and Rovers haven’t scored in any of their last 3 Championship fixtures, picking up just 1 point via a 0-0 draw at home to Derby.

Their away record is as bad as Leeds’ home record so something has to give here. The Lancashire club haven’t won any of their last 9 away fixtures since a victory at Elland Road back in April. That game was largely shaped by a first-half sending off to Leeds midfielder Rodolph Austin though and Blackburn are a weaker side this term so a repeat is highly unlikely.

Rovers come into the game after a hugely disappointing defeat at home to bitter rivals Burnley and have been looking fairly toothless in attack. With Leeds at least slightly improved on the latter days of the short-lived Uwe Rosler regime, they look good value at 8/5 to win the game.

They are unlikely to get a much better chance to break their Elland Road hoodoo than this game between two sides who once competed at the right end of the Premier League but are currently languishing in the bottom half of the Second tier.

It is unlikely to be a classic with neither side prolific in front of goal and one might be enough to settle it. Therefore consider backing Leeds to sneak an ugly but much needed 1-0 success at 13/2.
