Leeds vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- Both teams have scored in five of Nottingham Forest’s last six matches.
- Forest are without an away clean sheet since the opening game of 2023.
- Leeds have failed to win six of their last nine PL games when entered as favourites (W3, D3, L3).
- Each of the last three Elland Road-held H2Hs ended level.
A scrappy Elland Road encounter
Since taking over at Leeds, Javi Gracia has posted a mixed bag of results with two wins, two defeats and a draw in Premier League action. They enter this midweek round in a rather perilous position despite being outside of the drop zone as just goal difference cushions them from the dreaded bottom-three.
Leeds gave it their all as they fell 4-1 to Arsenal last time out, which is just about as good as anyone could have hoped for them in that particular fixture. A home encounter with fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest should be easier on paper, but Leeds have already lost at home to promoted opponents this season and are winless in their last ten midweek PL games!
Cooper’s Tricky Trees can hold their own
Forest are another of the raft of sides fighting for their lives in the business end of the season, so they’ll be well aware that victory over Leeds, who sit just one point below themselves, can propel them away from the drop zone for a short while.
Manager Steve Cooper was reportedly facing the axe if his side lost to Wolves last time out, yet they put in a very strong performance and were ultimately unlucky to draw 1-1. However it’s now seven games without a win for the visitors, five of which saw both teams score!
Go for goals in this tight scrap
You could make a pretty compelling case for either of these sides not to win this game, with Leeds’ disappointing record as pre-match favourites this season or Forest’s absolutely dire away record dampening confidence in the win-draw-win markets.
As such, we’re going for a BTTS selection as both sides will be desperate for all three points in this potentially pivotal clash at the bottom of the PL.
For smaller stakes, we’re completing our predictions for this encounter with a 1-1 draw in the correct score market and Brennan Johnson to score anytime, he’s hit three of the Tricky Trees’ last five goals!
