Leeds vs Preston Predictions
Leeds were 3-2 winners on Thursday night to move above Preston in the table and up to 14th. Steve Evans is doing a good job but most of their games have been low scoring affairs and prior to their trip to Molineux both teams had scored in only 1 of their last 7 matches in the Championship.
The Elland Road club have won 4 of their last 7 games, their best run of the season so far by some distance and could even be in the top half on Christmas Day if they win and other results go their way.
The same is true of Preston, who can be very content with how the last few months have gone after a shaky start to the season. They’ve lost just 1 of their last 11 games and they are very tough to beat thanks to a very impressive defence.
Preston have only conceded 4 goals in those 11 matches but although they have the best defensive record outside the top four, they also have the joint worst goalscoring record in the division.
They are likely to set their stall out to defend again here and with Leeds plagued by inconsistency to some extent they will fancy their chances of bagging a 9th clean sheet in 12 matches. You’re never confident that they will score themselves though so it might not necessarily be enough to win the match and either way backing ‘No’ in the ‘Both teams to score’ market looks a smart move here at 4/6.
This could well end in stalemate and given Preston have already been involved in six 0-0 draws this season, backing this to be another one at 6/1 might be the way to go in the correct score market.
