Leganes starting to slide

Promoted Leganes made a strong start to the new La Liga season but have now suffered back-to-back defeats, and they could be in line for more misery when Athletic Bilbao visit on Thursday.

The hosts started the campaign with five points from three games against teams who will probably be among their relegation rivals. As Leganes failed to register an attempt on goal against Betis the visitors could keep a second clean sheet of the season here and a 2-0 win for Bilbao is the correct score pick. Bilbao have hit four goals in total across their two away games so far and should be able to grab a couple against a Leganes outfit who have managed just one clean sheet in their last five competitive home games.

Nico Williams starred for Spain as they claimed the Euro 2024 trophy in the summer but then had a slow start to the domestic season. However, the 22-year-old impressed again for his country in the win over Switzerland over the international break and then opened his account for the season at Las Palmas last time out, so he looks a good contender for an anytime effort against Leganes.
