Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in each of Legia’s last three European qualifiers and they have scored in all five of their qualification games this summer, while AEK have scored in four of their five qualifiers and have kept just one clean sheet themselves. Legia can’t afford to sit back as they have to try and recover a three-goal deficit and that should give AEK chances on the counter, so both teams to score looks a strong play here.

AEK Larnaca 2-1

Reason for tip

AEK are big price underdogs but they may be able to kill this tie off with a win. The Cypriot side were worthy winners in the first leg and showed a clinical edge, that could see them claim a 2-1 win in Warsaw.

Legia Warsaw vs Aek Larnaca Predictions

  • AEK won the first leg 4-1.
  • Both teams have scored in each of Legia’s last three European qualifiers.
  • Both teams have scored in AEK’s last three games.

AEK on course for play-off round

Cypriot outfit AEK Larnaca head to Poland to face Legia on Thursday holding a commanding 4-1 lead in this Europa League tie.

The Warsaw outfit have it all to do if they are to reach the play-off round and it may prove to be too big of an ask, but Legia should still throw everything at the visitors.

The standout bet here could be both teams to score as Legia have to attack from the off and AEK will get chances on the break. Both teams have scored in each of Legia’s last three European qualifiers and they have scored in all five of their qualification games this summer, while AEK have scored in four of their five qualifiers and have kept just one clean sheet themselves.

AEK won as slight underdogs in the first leg but they were good value for their victory in the end. It won’t be so straightforward for the visitors on Thursday as Legia are unbeaten after four home games this season in all competitions (W3, D1) – but they come into this game already trailing and they simply have to take a few risks.

The Cypriot side were clinical in the first leg with four goals from five attempts on target but they also had more shots overall and dominated possession for large periods. On the basis of that performance, they look worth a small risk as big price underdogs to kill this tie off with a win, particularly if they can be ruthless on the counter. That line of thought is reflected in a 2-1 away win as the correct score prediction.
