Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

The spoils could be shared in a 1-1 draw as Leicester only failed to score in two of their final eight home games last season and Coventry scored exactly one goal in each of their last three away from home.

Leicester City vs Coventry Predictions

  • Coventry are unbeaten in their last 10 competitive away games.
  • Leicester won just five of their 19 home Premier League games last season.
  • The Foxes have scored in six of their last eight competitive home games.

Coventry can make life tough for Foxes

Leicester are short-priced favourites for the Championship this season and the Foxes start their second-tier campaign as odds-on favourites at home to Coventry.

Leicester’s summer transfer activity has been met pretty positively with the signings of Harry Winks and Conor Coady well received. However, neither of those two performers were Premier League stars and James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans, who were top-level performers, have all departed the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes have also taken a chance with the appointment of inexperienced manager Enzo Maresca and Leicester’s chances of a Premier League return, and indeed, their prospects of beating Coventry on Sunday, appear to have been viewed a little too positively by the prices.

Coventry were good enough to make the playoffs last term, boss Mark Robins has added Ellis Simms, Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto to a talented squad and the Sky Blues look to have a fair chance of achieving a positive result on Sunday.

The visitors look worth backing in the double chance market, and a 1-1 draw seems a reasonable correct score prediction.

Leicester only failed to score in two of their final eight home games last season and Coventry scored exactly one goal in each of their last three away – and managed to avoid defeat in their last 10 trips in the league – s0 the spoils could be shared in a 1-1 draw.
