Lens to prosper against goal-shy visitors

Lens had a decisive win in their last Ligue 1 game and they should be backed to get another win at home to Monaco on Saturday.

They will be buzzing after their last Ligue 1 result, a 5-0 win over Paris last weekend. Lens were 17/20 to win the game and comfortably obliged for favourite backers, making it 12 wins in the 13 matches in which they have been odds-on this season.

They are leading Ligue 1, with 17 wins from their 22 games so far, while Monaco are eighth in the table with nine wins, four draws and nine losses. There have been 46 games between teams in the top half of the table this season, and 28 (61%) have gone the way of the home team.

Lens are in excellent form, having won 16 of their last 20 Ligue 1 matches and enjoying success in 13 of their last 16 home games. In contrast, Monaco have failed to win any of their last five away games.

The visitors are struggling to find the back of the net. Monaco have now gone four Ligue 1 games without scoring on the road.

No defence has been meaner than Lens’ in Ligue 1 this term, with just 17 goals against in 22 games. The hosts have kept five clean sheets in their last six at home.

Lens’ recent results are encouraging, with ten straight Ligue 1 successes at home.

A 2-0 win for Lens looks the best correct-score bet. Five of their last seven Ligue 1 games have ended with at least one of the sides failing to score and Lens have defeated Monaco by two or more goals in their last two head-to-heads.
