Relegation on the mind for the hosts

The hosts start the matchday just three points away from the relegation play-off place and welcome a Standard Liège side who they’ve beaten just once in their last 11 competitive meetings. It’s been a tough season for OH Leuven and they’re in horrendous form having lost all of their last three games, conceding seven goals in the process and scoring just twice. Only two other sides are in worse form and they need to turn it around if they don’t want to be fighting for their lives come the business end of the season.

Standard Liège have been relatively impressive, losing just once in their last six games which came against top-six side Gent away from home. They’re an aggressive side, as is evident by the fact they have received the most booking points this season and they’re more than happy to scrap their way to a win. The issue is that they don’t create enough chances. They’re second bottom for big chances created and need to start creating opportunities to turn draws into wins.

Goals at both ends

We think this will be an intense affair but we do so both teams scoring at least once, but it’s a big ask for them to score more than that when you look at how they’ve been performing respectfully. As such, we think a 1-1 draw could be likely.
