Alaves can add to Levante woes

Levante’s latest stint in La Liga seems destined to be a brief one as they sit seven points adrift of safety ahead of the visit of Alaves on Friday.

The visitors are also battling the drop as they are three points clear of the bottom three. Alaves have shown a bit of fight recently with eight points from their last five games but the same can’t be said for Levante, who have lost their last four and have gone three games without scoring.

Levante’s home form this season has been their undoing as just seven of their 18 points have come at the Ciutat de València, losing seven and winning just one of their 12 games.

The Basque visitors won 2-1 when these sides met earlier in the season and can complete a league double. Alaves have been generally poor on the road with just eight points from 12 trips, but four of those have come in their last two road games and they look well placed to overcome this sorry Levante side.

As the Granotes have gone three games without scoring Alaves can win without conceding and a 1-0 away win is the pick. Alaves haven’t won by more than one goal on their travels in the league this season, while Levante rarely get embarrassed at home despite their struggles and they haven’t conceded more than twice in any of their last eight games at this venue.
