Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in five of the last eight Levante matches, while Valencia have seen BTTS land in 12 of their last 16 games. Seven of the previous eight clashes between these two have seen both teams score, so we’re backing goals in this one.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Levante are winless at home this term, but they’ve drawn six of eight outings at their own ground. Valencia have won just two of eight trips, so we’re backing a 1-1 final score.

Levante vs Valencia Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in five of the last eight Levante matches.
  • Both teams have scored in 12 of the last 16 Valencia matches in all competitions.
  • BTTS has landed in seven of the last eight league derby contests.

Both teams can shine in Valencian derby

The oddsmakers don’t think there’s much to choose between Levante and Valencia for Monday’s derby meeting at the Ciutat de Valencia.

In terms of league position, the hosts are in desperate need of the points to regain contact with the other teams in the relegation zone while Los Che are looking upwards at the shortening gap to the Champions League and Europa League places.

Jose Bordalas appears to have steered Valencia through their worst run of the season – a seven-game winless sequence that dropped them to 11th at one stage. His team have taken 12 points from the last 18 available with notable triumphs over Villarreal, Celta Vigo and Elche and important draws against Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano.

Lots of absentees on both sides

Victory in this one cannot be fully guaranteed with such a long list of absentees with Gabriel Paulista, Lato and Foulquier injured, Alderete isolating, Wass and Maxiby suspended and a doubt over Thierry Correia’s involvement too.

Levante will also be without suspended duo Mickael Malsa and Son while Shkodran Mustafi was injured last Saturday against Espanyol and Nemanja Radoja is unavailable because of Covid-19.

It looks a tough task for a team that have not won at home all season – yet they have fought for draws against the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico. Both teams to score looks a safer play here as 75% of Valencia’s matches since September have seen goals at both ends.  Seven of the last eight derby games have also been this way, so there’s a decent historical precedent too.

The correct score forecast that looks best for this is for a 1-1 draw because Valencia’s long list of casualties may prevent them from getting the three points this time.
