      Liverpool vs Stoke Predictions

Liverpool played a big part in one of the games of the season on Saturday, with a thrilling second half culminating in Liverpool grabbing an injury time winner against Norwich in a match that ended 5-4.

This made it two wins in a row for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but before that they had won none of their three games since the Capital One Cup semi final first leg.

They managed to win that match at the Britannia 1-0, with Jordan Ibe grabbing a 37th minute winner to give Liverpool a narrow lead going into the second leg.

However, the 5-4 match against Norwich will have taken a lot out of the Liverpool side. It was a frantic match that was played at a breakneck tempo until the final whistle. Although the confidence it will have brought to the players could be a benefit.

On the contrary, Stoke put in a lacklustre performance in their 3-0 defeat to Leicester on Saturday, but this was obviously a tactical decision with the semi final approaching.

Key player Bojan was rested, which was a massive drawback for a Stoke side who rely heavily on his flair and creativity. It may have resulted in a poor attacking showing against Leicester, but it does mean he will be fully match fit in time for this Capital One Cup match.

Stoke’s defeat at Leicester was their first defeat since the Capital One Cup semi final first leg, with two of their three matches in between ending in victory for Mark Hughes’ men.

Stoke have put in some good performances away from home this season, and they have managed to win six of their last 11 away days in all competitions and have only lost three times.

I think the resting of Bojan could be key for this match, and I fancy Stoke to put in a good performance and give Liverpool a run for their money. Odds of 11/10 for a Stoke Win or Draw Double Chance look good value to me considering Liverpool have only won two of their last five home matches. I’m also backing a 1-0 correct score prediction at 10/1.
