Liverpool and Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Tottenham have lost six games in a row in all competitions and the manner of their 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid was alarming. They should be able to get on the scoresheet for the sixth game running, with Arne Slot’s side conceding in four consecutive matches.

      Liverpool 3-1

      Reason for tip

Liverpool have scored four or more goals against Tottenham in their last four ties at Anfield and this should be another entertaining affair. Slot’s side are not as explosive as they were last season, but they should have far too much quality for their visitors.

      Hugo Ekitike To Score Anytime

      Reason for tip

Hugo Ekitike has registered 31 shots on target for the Reds this season and he scored in the 2-1 win over Spurs in December. With Igor Tudor’s side looking lost at the back, he can take full advantage.

      Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

      • Liverpool have only lost one of their last 11 games at Anfield
      • Tottenham have lost six matches in a row in all competitions
      • Liverpool have won eight of the last 10 head-to-heads, with both teams scoring in eight of those ties

Reds to give Tudor more nightmares

Neither Liverpool nor Tottenham enjoyed their midweek European trips in the Champions League, but only one side was embarrassed.

Slot’s men lost 1-0 to Galatasaray and should have found the back of the net on several occasions in Turkey. Tottenham lost 5-2 to Atletico Madrid, with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky replaced inside 20 minutes after a torrid start.

Spurs caretaker Igor Tudor has been heavily criticised for that decision, and he has yet to show any evidence that he is the right man to steer Spurs away from the relegation zone.

Tottenham have lost all four games under Tudor and they continue to leak goals at the back. Spurs are only one point above the bottom three and they have not won at Anfield since May 2011.

While they should fall short, Spurs have scored in five consecutive games, suggesting their travelling fans will have something to cheer at least.

Slot’s side primed for routine victory

The history books suggest Liverpool usually enjoy themselves against Tottenham on Merseyside and that should be no different this weekend.

Liverpool have scored four or more goals in four consecutive games at Anfield against Spurs and the recent form suggests that another routine home win should be on the cards.

Slot’s team have scored 19 goals in their last five matches in front of their own fans and they will expect to rack up the goals against a Spurs side that has conceded two or more in five of their last six on the road.

      Ekitike should enjoy the challenge

Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike has impressed in his debut season in the Premier League, with the Frenchman their leading goalscorer with 16 in all competitions.

While he has work to do to prove he is the finished article, the former Eintracht Franfkurt man will spearhead the attack and he should get some joy this weekend.

Spurs are conceding chances and goals at an alarming rate and Ekitike, who has had 26 shots in his last eight starts, can punish them.
