Reason For Livingston vs Aberdeen Predictions

  • Livingston have won their last six Scottish Premiership matches.
  • Aberdeen have lost just one of their nine away trips this term (W4, D4).
  • The Dons have lost just four of their 21 league matches this season, with three of those defeats coming against runaway leaders Rangers.
  • Aberdeen are unbeaten in their last 13 meetings against Livingston.

Dons to Halt Livi’s Run

Livingston kept up their remarkable form under new boss David Martindale with a 3-1 home victory against Ross County at the weekend, but the Lions’ winning streak could well be halted this Wednesday night by an Aberdeen side who have lost just one of their nine starts on the road this term.

Livi have enjoyed an outstanding turnaround since the departure of former manager Gary Holt at the end of November when the club were languishing 10th in the table. A fine run of six consecutive victories has lifted them up to sixth and with Martindale now at the helm, the Lions will harbour serious ambitions of qualifying for the Europa League this season.

They face a difficult test though this week in the shape of Aberdeen, who they haven’t beaten since 2004. The Dons are unbeaten in 13 games between the pair including a 2-1 success at Pittodrie earlier this season.

Aberdeen sit nine points ahead of Livi in third and Derek McInnes’ side have been extremely solid this term. They have lost just one from nine of their travels (W4, D4) and four from 21 starts overall, with three of those defeats coming against champions elect Rangers.

Their latest reverse against the Gers came on Sunday (1-2) which ended a seven match unbeaten sequence for Aberdeen, but they should bounce back here to some extent by claiming a positive result.

The hosts are in the form of their lives, but Aberdeen’s dominance in the head to head evens things out somewhat and with four away draws already this term for the visitors, we’re predicting this one to end all square at 1-1.
