Tip Reasoning

  • Livingston have just one point from five Premiership games.
  • Celtic have three wins in their last four league outings.
  • Livi have scored in both of their Premiership home games, which were both 2-1 defeats.

Celtic bid to end away day blues

Celtic blew a 2-0 lead in a 4-3 defeat at Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday but should have no problems in bouncing back against rock bottom Livingston in the Premiership on Sunday.

Livi did manage to pick up their first point of the season at Dundee last time out, ending a run of four straight defeats, but Celtic should be far too strong for their hosts on Sunday.

The Glasgow giants do have a few injury concerns and boss Ange Postecoglou looks set to be without top scorer Kyogo Furuhashi and James Forrest at the Tony Macaroni Arena, but even an understrength Celtic side who have made a midweek trip to Spain should have too much for Livingston on Sunday.

The Parkhead club’s away form is a concern as they have five defeats in their last six away games but three of those losses came in Europe, while they have also been bested at Hearts and at Rangers in an Old Firm meeting.

Livingston have lost both of their home games in the Premiership and have lost their last four at home in the league stretching back to last season.  Livi did manage a draw with Celtic at home last term but a repeat looks unlikely and an away win with a -1 handicap is my main bet, while a 3-1 win for Celtic has some appeal as Livingston have scored in both of their home matches and the Bhoys are yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels.
