Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

With seven goals scored across the three matches involving either side in this tournament, both clubs should feel confident in finding the back of the net. Two of the last three head-to-heads at the Almondvale Stadium have ended in score draws and a 1-1 final result shows some promise.

Livingston vs Dunfermline Predictions

  • Livingston were relegated to the Championship last season
  • Dunfermline have not won at Livingston since 2008
  • The last meeting at the Almondvale Stadium resulted in a goalless draw

Point gained for second-tier sides in score draw

Livingston put the disappointment of relegation from the Premiership behind them with a strong 2-0 victory at Forfar in their League Cup opener but they not find life as comfortable when they take on Dunfermline – who they will meet in the Championship this season – on Saturday.

The Lions ended last season in impressive home form, winning two and drawing two of their last four matches at the Almondvale Stadium, however they do have an inferior head-to-head record against Dunfermline, winning 12 of their head-to-heads compared to the 16 of their opponents.

The Pars started off their League Cup campaign with a 3-0 victory over Spartans but a 2-0 defeat to Forfar brought James McPake’s side back down to Earth, leaving Dunfermline with just one win from their last seven competitive fixtures.

Four of these seven matches have ended all square while each of their last three meetings in Livingston have ended level and another could be in store this weekend. With seven goals scored across the three matches involving either side in this tournament, both clubs should feel confident in finding the back of the net and a 1-1 draw looks a tempting final score option.
