Luton performing beyond expectations

Luton Town have been the surprise package of the Championship this campaign. It would’ve taken a brave person to suggest that the ‘Hatters’ would be in with a shout of promotion prior to the season starting. However, after collecting 26 points from the last 36 available has put Luton Town on the verge of a playoff place and a first appearance in the Premier League in their history. But they need to continue earning wins and this home match against a Derby County fighting for their lives could prove vital.

Derby County’s survival challenge took another hit during the week as they were beaten 2-1 by Milwall at Pride Park during the week and it will have been disappointing given the ‘Rams’ home form has been what’s given them even the smallest chance of beating the drop. They just can’t seem to put a good run together and haven’t secured back-to-back league wins since late December. Boss Wayne Rooney has assured that they will fight to the end, but going away to a Luton Town side who have the momentum will be a difficult task.
