PSG can continue their winning streak

PSG are aiming to make it 10 wins on the spin across all competitions when they visit Villarreal on Tuesday night. The French champions haven’t looked back since ending a four-game winless run in early September, and they’ve scored 14 times across three victories in the Champions League.

PSG were 5-1 winners against Le Havre on Friday evening, and they’ve scored 30 goals in total across their winning streak. They haven’t been exactly watertight at the other end, having conceded in seven of those victories.

Villarreal look worth opposing here, with the Yellow Submarine stuck in mid-table domestically. They suffered their fifth La Liga defeat of the season in a home loss to Espanyol on Friday, and 11 of the 12 points they’ve claimed so far have come against the bottom five.

Villarreal were beaten 4-3 at Liverpool in their last European assignment, while they opened their League Phase campaign with a 3-2 defeat at Dortmund. While they were able to claim a home win over Napoli in between, this is a much higher standard of opposition.

PSG have scored four goals apiece in wins over Man City and Barcelona across their last two games in Europe, so an away win and over 3.5 goals is the standout bet in this clash.
