Luxembourg vs Portugal Betting Tips

European minnows Luxembourg picked up a win in their friendly outing against the horribly out of form Greece on Friday.

This was their 2^nd win in five matches, with their win over Macedonia ending a 15 match winless streak for the home side.

14 of their last 20 matches have ended in defeat for Luxembourg, results which saw them end Euro 2016 qualifying with just four points in Group C.

Portugal managed to pick up a few more points than their opponents during their qualifying campaign, with their 21 point haul seeing them top Group I as the final whistle was blown.

Their group was fairly easy as far as qualifying groups go. Albania and Denmark were their closest contenders with 14 and 12 points respectively, and it was only a shock defeat in the first game against Albania that stopped them from achieving a perfect record in the smallest Euro 2016 qualifying group.

They have lost a few friendly matches in between competitive matches though. Russia beat them on Saturday, joining France and Cape Verde Islands in the group of teams that have defeated Portugal in the past year.

Portugal won’t be particularly worried about the threat (or lack of it) that Luxembourg pose on Tuesday though. Luxembourg have only beaten Portugal once in their 12 meetings, a 4-2 win all the way back in 1961.

Portugal haven’t slipped up recently though. They have won all of their last seven meetings, scoring 27 goals and conceding just one.

I’m fully expecting a Portugal win on Tuesday, and in my opinion it’s more a case of how many the visitors will win by. They may not have hit the scoring heights they would have wished for recently, but with Cristiano Ronaldo allowed to run free at a pretty dismal defensive line up it could definitely turn out to be a thrashing.
