Out-of-sorts visitors to fall short again

Malaga should be backed to beat Leganes at home in La Liga 2 on Saturday. The visitors have lost four times in their last five away games and Malaga can take advantage.

They are fourth in La Liga 2, 13 places and 17 points above Leganes. The hosts have won 16, drawn six and lost nine of their 31 games this season, while the visitors sit in 17th with nine wins, ten draws and 12 defeats.

Malaga maintained their winning run with a 3-0 victory away to Cadiz in their last La Liga 2 game. Chupe struck twice, including the opener on 22 minutes, and Malaga also restricted Cadiz to one shot on target.

Malaga have gone 12 home games without defeat in La Liga 2, winning seven of their last nine.

They will be expecting to find the net, having scored three goals or more in three consecutive La Liga 2 games. They have also scored in 17 matches in a row, including a recent 5-3 win over Huesca.

Leganes’ current form is underwhelming. They have failed to win any of their last five La Liga 2 away games, and have tasted defeat in seven of their last eight on the road.

The visitors’ defence has been far from solid. Leganes have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last eight games in La Liga 2, and have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in three straight matches.

A narrow 1-0 victory for Malaga looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. Five of the last six La Liga 2 meetings between these sides have gone under 2.5 goals and ten of Leganes’ 12 defeats this season have come by the odd goal.
