Tip Reasoning

  • Eight of Mallorca’s last 11 matches have included three or more goals
  • There have been three or more goals in 11 of Valencia’s last 16 games
  • Mallorca’s last three home fixtures have each featured three or more goals

Mallorca’s home form pulling them to safety

Until recently, Mallorca had a shocking home record in La Liga, but they have won three in a row at Son Moix (one of which was in the Copa del Rey), with each of those victories containing three or more goals.

That run of form has pulled them six points clear of the relegation zone, and goals are certainly a feature of wherever they play.

Their last outing was a 2-1 loss to Real Betis, while eight of their last 11 games in all competitions and at all venues have featured at least three strikes.

Valencia struggling defensively

It is no secret as to why Valencia are currently in the bottom half of La Liga; their defending this season simply has not been good enough.

José Bordalás’ side have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine away games, and that came in the Copa del Rey, with seven of the other eight matches including three or more goals.

They score plenty themselves, and indeed have netted in ten successive outings on the road, and 16 of their last 17 at any venue, with 11 of those games seeing three or more strikes.

There should be goals in this game, and a fair few of them. I predict there will be three or more in the match, but cannot split the two sides, selecting a 2-2 draw as a correct score prediction.
