      Manchester City vs Newcastle Predictions

Manchester City have suffered back to back defeats in the Premier League for the first time this season, with a shocking 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham being followed by a humbling 4-1 loss at Spurs.

They even went ahead against Spurs, but their defence crumbled amid controversial lineman decisions and they conceded three in the second half to lose the game.

Along with their 2-1 loss to Juventus in their Champions League opener, that makes it three losses in their last five games in all competitions.

They did manage to bounce back in midweek though when they beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1. But they fell behind in this game as well, and it took a 90th minute penalty from Sergio Aguero to win the game.

They are still only one point behind Premier League leaders Manchester United though thanks to their excellent start to the season, but they look a different team to the one we saw a few weeks ago.

Newcastle would have taken a draw against Chelsea if it was offered before the game, but it ended up as a disappointing result after they went 2-0 up against the Premier League champions.

But the 2-2 draw did see them break their run of four losses in a row, yet they still remain winless in the Premier League this season.

Both teams have a large number of injuries to contend with, with the most notable absentees being Vincent Kompany, Gael Clichy, Rolando Aarons, Papiss Cisse, and Steven Taylor.

With Newcastle generally struggling to score and Manchester City looking a bit lacklustre at the moment, I’m not expecting a massively high scoring game here. I do think City will get the win though, and odds of 11/8 for a Manchester City Win and Under 3.5 Goals look really good value.
