Tip Reasoning

  • PSG have scored in 44 of their last 46 Champions League games, only failing to score against Bayern Munich in this period.
  • PSG have won their last ten away games in all competitions.

Tie far from over despite Man City’s first leg lead

A fantastic second half performance saw Manchester City put one foot in their first ever Champions League final last week but the tie is far from over and we could see another famous Champions League comeback on Tuesday.

The Citizens followed that 2-1 win in Paris with a routine 2-0 win at Crystal Palace and while their form is excellent at the moment the fans and players will be well aware that two of their three defeats in 2021 have come at the Etihad.

That, combined with Manchester City’s trait of imploding in the Champions League, make this far from a straightforward fixture.

Away record gives PSG hope

PSG, inspired by an in-form Neymar, boosted their own title credentials on Saturday with a win over Lens and it’s worth noting the disparities between their home and away form as well,

Each of the Parisiens last five defeats in all competitions have come at the Parc des Princes, leaving them unbeaten away from home since January. They have won each of their ten games since that reverse at Lorient, including big scalps such as Barcelona, Lyon and Bayern Munich.

Expect goals at the Etihad

What we can expect on Tuesday is plenty of attacking intent from the French side. They have scored in 44 of their last 46 Champions League matches, with their two failures during this lengthy spell both coming against Bayern Munich.

However, they have conceded in nine of their last ten games in all competitions and face a Man City side that have failed to score in just one home game all season. Backing both teams to score looks an excellent option.

We’re also opposing favourites Manchester City with our correct score prediction. They have lost two of their last six home games and PSG are in stunning form away from home, so a repeat of Man City’s 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds is our choice to send the game to extra-time and contribute to our 85/1 bet builder.

  • Kylian Mbappe has scored seven goals in his last six appearances for PSG.
  • Both teams have scored in six of PSG’s last seven Champions League matches.
