Manchester United vs Crystal Palace Predictions
Manchester United were unimpressive to say the least as they beat bottom of the table Aston Villa by a single goal on Saturday. After an excellent performance against West Ham in midweek they reverted back to their usual selves as they held on to the ball for long periods of the game but never really threatened to do anything with it.
It was that boy Marcus Rashford who bagged the winner though, and the Old Trafford faithful will know they are onto a real winner with him following his incredible debut season.
Despite their lacklustre performance they still managed three points, which sees them keep pace with the top four. Both Arsenal and Manchester City are now just four points ahead of them.
Crystal Palace must be feeling pretty relieved about now. They managed to hang on away to Arsenal on Sunday, failing to give up on the game and eventually netting an equaliser to earn a hard fought point.
This puts them eight points clear of Norwich and nine points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, and also stretches their unbeaten streak to four matches in the Premier League. In addition to this, they also have an FA Cup semi final to look forward to on Sunday, with fellow semi finalists Manchester United playing on Saturday.
These two sides have averaged just over one goal per game this season, and matches at Old Trafford this season have been famously low scoring. Saturday’s 1-0 scoreline made it five matches in a row at Old Trafford where there has been fewer than three goals scored, and five of Crystal Palace’s last six outings have seen two goals at most go in.
This makes odds of 5/6 for Under 2.5 Goals very attractive in my opinion, and I’m also going for a 1-0 win for the hosts at 11/2.
