Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
- Both teams have scored in eight of Nottingham Forest’s last nine league games.
- Manchester United have won their last seven home Premier League matches.
- Nottingham Forest have conceded exactly two goals in six of their last ten league away days, losing 2-1 three times.
Forest face tough away day
Nottingham Forest got their first points on the board against Sheffield United last weekend but they could find things a little more difficult when they pay a visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.
Their hosts certainly haven’t put their best foot forward so far, narrowly beating Wolves in a controversial curtain raiser before deservedly losing at Spurs last weekend.
Red Devils looking to bounce back
Manchester United have looked all over the place defensively in their opening two games, allowing their opponents 41 shots on goal and conceding 4.26 expected goals. However, it is only profligacy in front of goal that has limited them to one goal in two games.
Bruno Fernandes missed a golden opportunity at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and, on another day, they could have easily scored a couple more. Providing they find their shooting boots in time, Erik ten Hag’s side should be able to punish Forest’s back line. The Red Devils will be lucky to keep a clean sheet, though.
Expect goals at Old Trafford
The Tricky Trees got on the scoresheet against Arsenal in their opener and were arguably unfortunate to lose to last season’s runners-up, but they made amends with a deserved win over The Blades.
Steve Cooper’s side have now scored in nine successive Premier League matches but have only kept one clean sheet in this period, while Manchester United have only failed to score in two home league games since January 2022.
This makes both teams to score an appealing option, and I’m also backing a home win in the form of a 2-1 correct score prediction.
Forest have taken just two points from their last ten top-flight away games and have conceded exactly twice in six of these games, including three 2-1 losses. Manchester United have won their last seven home league games and have scored exactly two goals in three of these.
