Manchester United vs PSV Betting Tips

Manchester United’s last ditch winner at Watford on Saturday took their winning streak to three matches, and they are now unbeaten in eight matches in 90 minutes. They did lose to Middlesbrough on penalties though.

Four of these eight games have been draws though, and their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal at the start of October highlighted some massive holes in the Manchester United setup.

Despite this, they are in with a good shout both domestically and in Europe. They sit in 2^nd position in the Premier League with a top of the table clash with Leicester coming up at the weekend.

They are already occupying the top spot in their Champions League group, although with a return of just seven points from four games their position is somewhat fortunate.

A win on Wednesday would see them move four points clear of PSV and at least a point clear of one of the other two teams. This would guarantee qualification to the knockout stages of the competition.

But PSV have already beaten Manchester United this season, with a 2-1 smash and grab win in the Champions League opening game. They also have the opportunity to go top of the group with a win at Old Trafford.

PSV are unbeaten in six matches in all competitions, scoring 22 goals on the way as well. Their last result was a 2-2 draw to Willem though, leaving them four points adrift of Eredivisie leaders Ajax in 3^rd place.

Memphis Depay has scored three Champions League goals so far this season, and he will have boosted his confidence with an excellent finish at Watford on Saturday. Add to this the extra incentive of playing against his old club and he’s a real candidate to grab a goal on Wednesday.

I think Manchester United will break through a fairly leaky defence, and with their defence they could well neutralise PSV’s attacking potential. Odds of 1.825 for a Manchester United -1 Asian Handicap win look very good value as well.
