      Middlesbrough vs Rotherham Predictions

Boro took a while to open the deadlock on Saturday but ultimately cruised to a convincing 3-0 home win against another of the struggling sides, Charlton. This should be another home banker and with the sides around them also in good form, Middlesbrough can’t really afford any slip-ups.

Neil Redfearn has a tough job on his hands at Rotherham and hasn’t made the best of starts having picked up just 1 point from his opening 4 matches, the latest of which was a convincing 3-0 defeat at Derby on Saturday.

He’ll probably be relieved to get these fixtures out the way with Derby and Middlesbrough perhaps the toughest places to go looking for points on the road. Given Boro have won 5 of their last 6 home games by 2 goals or more, they look excellent value at 21/20 to do likewise again against the division’s bottom club and worst defence.

Middlesbrough won by 2 goals or more in both matches against the Millers last season and if anything they are stronger now where as Rotherham appear to be a weaker outfit.

One glimmer of hope for Rotherham is that they do score goals and prior to the trip to the iPro at the weekend they had only failed to score once in 15 games this season. Therefore an away goal is perhaps a possibility here and it might be worth taking a punt on Middlesbrough to win 3-1 at 11/1.
