In-form Oddrane striker can make difference

Mjøndalen are still looking for their first home win of the season as they prepare to host high-flying Odd BK at Consto Arena on Thursday.

Vegard Hansen’s men are one of the Eliteserien’s least potent sides so far with only seven goals scored in their seven games played to put exactly seven points on the board.

Oddrane, on the other hand, have scored three goals in each of their last two and come into this match having found a nice run of form that has lifted them into the top half of the table.

Holding games in hand over all the teams above them, Jan Frode Nornes’ side could jump into the top six with a win and the odds on them doing so look very attractive.

Odd BK may have only won one of their five away-days this season – against basement club Brann two games ago – but they have shown they score can goals (six) on their travels.

And the way they battered Tromso 3-0 at home last week suggests they possess the firepower to down Mjøndalen here.

In Mushaga Bakenga, they have an in-form forward that has scored six times in his four away starts this term and should be a big threat to a home defence that has kept only one clean sheet in the past six.

Hansen knows his team’s best chance of picking up that elusive first home win will be to keep it tight and hope for a bit of luck in the opposition box.

But, because Oddrane are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road, we are forecasting a 2-1 Odds BK victory.
