Tense encounter looks likely between arch foes

There are few rivalries in English football more bitter than that which exists between AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons, and the pair may not be able to be separated when they meet at Plough Lane on Thursday.

Wimbledon hold the recent advantage, having won all three of their meetings last season and not conceding in their last four encounters, but Milton Keynes have been the draw specialists in the third tier this season and that could continue here.

Five of their six league matches this term have finished level, and while Johnnie Jackson’s hosts sit a healthy seventh in the table, there will be concerns among the faithful that they have scored just five goals in their first six outings.
