Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in four of Monaco’s last seven home league matches. They have conceded in five of their lats eight home games and could be vulnerable again after shipping three at Lyon last week while Clermont beat Reims 4-1. Both teams have scored in three of Clermont’s last four games, including away at PSG.

Monaco 2-1

Reason for tip

Monaco had won six and drawn two of their previous eight games before tasting defeat in Lyon last weekend. Their general form is still good and they should win, but it is unlikely to be an easy task against a side that stopped PSG from taking all three points at the Parc des Princes recently. Clermont are fighting for survival and may go down 2-1 to their highly-motivated hosts.

Wissam Ben Yedder To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Wissam Ben Yedder broke a scoring drought with a double in last week’s 3-2 defeat at Lyon. The striker, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, has notched five times in his last four league appearances against Clermont.

Ben Yedder back on song for Monaco

Monaco lost momentum at Lyon last weekend, but Adi Hutter’s side should be able to bounce back against basement boys Clermont at Stade Louis II on Saturday.

Hutter was outwitted by Pierre Sage, Lyon’s excellent midseason appointment, as his side threw away a 2-1 half-time lead at Groupama Stadium to lose 3-2.

The most positive aspect of the game for the visitors was the return to goalscoring form of Wissam Ben Yedder, who broke a nine-game drought with a brace.

Gastien’s guests got on the board in Paris

Monaco were exposed defensively and with Clermont coming off a 4-1 home win over Reims, there may be goals in this game for the underdogs.

Pascal Gastien’s side are not regular scorers on the road, but did get on the board in a recent 1-1 draw at a much-changed Paris Saint-Germain side, so it is not out of the question that they score.

Monaco have conceded in five of their last eight home matches, a run of games in which they dropped points in draws against fourth-bottom Le Havre and second-last Lorient. So with that in mind, it may be safer to back both teams to score at a bigger price than Monaco to take all three points at skinny odds.
