      Monaco to Win

      Reason for tip

Monaco are three wins from three under new head coach Filipe Luis and have won their last three home meetings with a Marseille side that were poor travellers last season, losing five of their final seven matches on the road in 2025-26.

      Monaco 1-0

      Reason for tip

Monaco won 1-0 at Le Havre last week and history could repeat itself against a Marseille side that scored just three goals in their final seven away games of last season and have lost on their three most recent trips to the Stade Louis II.

      Monaco vs Marseille Predictions

      • Monaco have won their last three home matches against Marseille
      • Filipe Luis is three wins from three since taking over as Monaco head coach
      • Marseille lost five of their final seven away fixtures last season

New managers have enjoyed strong starts

Ligue 1 heavyweights Monaco and Marseille have both made perfect starts to the new season but something will have to give when they lock horns at the Stade Louis II on Sunday night.

Monaco are three wins from three under new head coach Filipe Luis, with a 1-0 league success at Le Havre coming in between home and away victories over Gornik Zabrze in Conference League qualifying.

Marseille are also under new management, with Bruno Genesio making the perfect start as his side thrashed Strasbourg 4-0 at the Stade Velodrome, but this looks a much sterner test given OM’s away struggles last season.

Away form could prove costly for OM again

Nine of Marseille’s 11 defeats in Ligue 1 last season came on their travels, including losses in five of their final seven matches away from the Velodrome.

OM scored just three times during that run, although one of those goals was in a 2-1 defeat at Monaco in April.

Monaco have won each of their last three home meetings with Marseille by an aggregate score of 8-3, although given their midweek European efforts, coupled with their visitors’ lack of firepower on the road, one goal could be enough to settle this game.
