Tip Reasoning

  • Monaco have won their last five Ligue 1 matches.
  • Les Monegasques have lost just one of their 11 home games this season, winning seven.
  • Nice have won just one of their last seven top flight starts, losing four.
  • Monaco ran out 1-2 winners in November’s reverse fixture at Allianz Riviera.

Monaco to Maintain Winning Sequence

A superb run of five straight league victories has seen Monaco latch onto the Ligue 1 leaders and Les Monegasques can build further momentum when they square off against struggling Nice at Stade Louis II.

Goals from Guillermo Maripan and Kevin Volland proved enough to see off Nantes 1-2 at the weekend as Monaco made it a perfect 15 points from 15 and Niko Kovac’s charges are now just six points behind leaders Lille in fourth.

A return to Champions League football this season is now a highly realistic aim for Les Monegasques, and they should extend their winning sequence further here against a Nice outfit who have won just one of their last seven Ligue 1 starts (D2, L4) and only two of their last 12 (D3, L7).

Les Aiglons’ nosedive down the table began with a 1-2 defeat against Monaco at Allianz Riviera in November and there’s simply nothing to suggest that they can reverse the form this Wednesday.

While their overall away record this term remains impressive with five wins gained and just two defeats suffered in ten, Nice are a team really lacking in confidence and they have plenty to make up for in terms of quality here too as the 16 point gap between the sides implies.

Monaco rate a solid inclusion in any midweek multiples but we’re also throwing over 2.5 goals in the mix for our single wager. That’s been the outcome in all but one of the hosts’ fixtures at Stade Louis II this season, while both teams have also scored in the last three encounters.

Kovac’s side are expected to triumph fairly cosily though and a touch easier than they did in Nice back in November, so we’re also going for a 3-1 correct score prediction.
