Monaco vs Shakhtar Donetsk Predictions

Monaco will face a real battle to overcome Shakhtar Donetsk in Champions League qualifying in what looks an evenly matched tie.

Europe has been a welcome distraction for the French outfit in the early stages of the season.  Monaco are yet to win domestically and were beaten at Lorient over the weekend but they came through a tricky looking tie with Sparta Prague in the last round of Champions League qualifying with a comfortable 5-1 aggregate win.

Shakhtar have five wins and one defeat from six games so far and they have an impressive record away record in this competition, having managed a draw at Inter Milan and a win at Real Madrid in the group stages last season.

Both teams to score immediately stands out here as there have been goals at both ends in four of Shakhtar’s six games so far this term and in both of Monaco’s home games.  The Ukrainian side are yet to draw a blank this season, while Monaco have scored in each of their last seven competitive home games and 1-1 is out pick in the correct score market.
