Lyon to maintain impressive away form
Lyon will head into the weekend sitting fourth in the standings, but they remain in the title hunt thanks largely to their impressive away form.
Les Gones are currently on a 14-match unbeaten run on the road in Ligue 1, with their last away defeat coming in September against Montpellier.
That loss is the only league defeat Lyon have suffered away from home this season, a record no one can better in the division, with leaders Lille having also only lost once on their travels.
By contrast, Nantes sit second-bottom of the standings and face an uphill battle if they are to avoid relegation this season.
Antoine Kombouare’s side have particularly struggled on home soil, picking up just two league wins at the Stade de la Beaujoire all season, with only bottom club Dijon having won fewer games on their own patch.
The last of those two wins came back in September, meaning Les Canaris have failed to win any of their last 13 home games in Ligue 1.
Nantes have at least managed to score in six of their last seven home games, so although we are predicting a Lyon win on Sunday, our prediction does include the hosts getting on the scoresheet.
