Nantes vs Rennes Predictions

Midweek heartbreak for both outfits

Nantes were eliminated from the Europa League after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Juventus during the week. But they will have little time to lick their wounds as they’re back in Ligue 1 action. It could be a blessing in disguise as they sit just 13th in the league standings and they’ll be looking to focus on pushing up the table. They have failed to win any of their last three matches but welcome a Rennes outfit that were also knocked out of the Europa League during the week.

The visitors were knocked out via penalties against Shakhtar Donetsk midweek which is a crushing blow and a dampener on what’s generally been a good season for Bruno Génésio’s side. However, whilst they have been formidable at home, their away form leaves a lot to be desired after failing to win nine of their 11 away league outings.

Goals at both ends looks to be inevitable

A win here would do the world of good for both sides, particularly after midweek disappointment. But it’s tough to confidently back either side. However, both teams have scored in games where Rennes have been the visitors and we’ll side with that happening once again.
