      Napoli vs AC Milan Predictions

A tough 1-0 defeat to Juventus in Turin ended Napoli’s winning run in Serie A football and their stay at the top of the table. It was followed in midweek action by another frustrating 1-0 loss to Spanish side Villareal in the Europa League Round of 32. Maurizio Sarri has engrained a competitiveness and toughness in this side that didn’t necessarily exist during the still relatively successful Rafael Benitez era, bit that grit will be seriously tested when the club line up for Serie A’s lone Monday night fixture against AC Milan.

Milan, by the way, are currently one of Italian football’s form teams. They’ve moved to within two points of bitter in-city rivals Inter, and are seriously contending for an unexpectedly quick return to Champions League football. They’re on an unbeaten run of seven games, including four wins and the team’s attack has really come into its own of late scoring 12 times in their past six matches.

      Reason for Betting Tips

AC Milan’s good run of form in the goal-scoring department combined with Napoli’s natural attacking quality (53 goals in 25 goals), should make this an entertaining fixture. We’re not anticipating that Napoli’s run of getting shut out continues, but neither do we expect this game to get away from a very talented and in-form Milan side. Look for both teams to get on the scoresheet in a back and forth match-up. The BTTS odds come in at 3/4 with bet365, a nice mark to create a profitable return.

      Head-to-Head

Napoli have won four of the past five, including a 4-0 destruction at the San Siro earlier in this campaign. However, Milan have been a club that is building themselves up again and there are some positive signs that they are closer to the end of that process than their early form indicated.

      Statistics

Napoli has scored at least one goal in 92% of its Serie A games this season, while AC Milan have scored in seven straight matches.

      Team News

AC Milan’s defensive reserves are being tested by the absences of Alessio Romagnoli and Ignazio Abate, while Jose Mauri looks like he might just be available to make a return, if selected. Creative midfielder Juraj Kucka also remains sidelined.

Jorginho is a missing sparkplug and his absence is one possible explanation for Napoli’s slight offensive downturn. He won’t be in the lineup on Monday night.
