A-League season continues in Newcastle

McDonald Jones Stadium plays host to the A-League’s newest club, Macarthur, as they take on Newcastle Jets on Sunday morning.

Newcastle haven’t enjoyed a good start to the season, losing both of their games so far, although they can consider themselves unlucky in both of those defeats. They’ve scored just once in those games and they’ll be keen to get their first win of the season on the board.

Macarthur have started their inaugural season with a win, a loss and a draw, results that they will be happy with to start their A-League tenure. They’ve only found the net twice however and they’ll need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal to succeed.

Both sides have really struggled in front of goal so far this season with the Jets 2-1 loss to Western Sydney being the only time either side has seen the 2.5 goal line beaten in their games. With just three goals in their combined five games so far this season, there could be further issues in the final third and we’re predicting there to be under 2.5 goals in this game.
