Slovenia to Win

Reason for tip

Northern Ireland have lost two of their three home games in Euro 2024 qualifying while Slovenia have won two of their three away games in Group H. Unlike the hosts, who are now unable to qualify, the visitors have it all to play for as they bid to reach their first Euro finals since 2000.

Slovenia 1-0

Reason for tip

Northern Ireland have not lost by more than one goal at home since 2020 and rarely conceded more than once during that span. Both of their previous home losses in Group H have been by 1-0 scorelines. Slovenia have kept clean sheets in three of their last eight away games and three of their last six overall.

Benjamin Sesko To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Benjamin Sesko has scored eight goals in his last 11 competitive internationals. The RB Leipzig striker scored in Slovenia’s 4-2 home win over Northern Ireland last month and set up two other goals.

Northern Ireland vs Slovenia Predictions

  • Northern Ireland have lost two of their three home games in Euro 2024 qualifying
  • Slovenia have won two of their three away games in Euro 2024 qualifying
  • Benjamin Sesko has scored eight goals in his last 11 competitive internationals

Slovenia two wins away from finals

Slovenia are two wins away from qualifying for the Euro 2024 Finals and head to Belfast with a big shout of picking up another three points against Northern Ireland.

Benjamin Sesko’s brace propelled Slovenia to a 3-0 win over Finland on Saturday, with Denmark’s later win over Kazakhstan helping to open up a three-point gap over their nearest rivals for a top-two spot in Group H.

Northern Ireland’s realistic hopes of making the finals were extinguished last month, but they got back to winning ways with a routine 3-0 home win over San Marino at the weekend.

Northern Ireland rarely succumb at home

Matjaz Kek’s men are solid on their travels and, with much more at stake than their hosts, can take a narrow victory at Windsor Park.

Northern Ireland have not lost by more than one goal at home since 2020 and rarely conceded more than once, so the most likely scoreline of any Slovenian win has to be 1-0.

Sesko’s current goalscoring form makes him the standout pick in anytime goalscorer markets too.
