Norway vs Faroe Islands Predictions

Norway drew 1-1 for the third successive match when they made the trip to Romania last time out, while the Faroe Islands picked up their first, and likely their only win, of the group stage at home to Malta in their last match.

All of the stats point towards there being no more than three goals in Friday’s clash and we have backed Norway to claim a 2-0 win in their own backyard.

Norway have won each of their three previous encounters with, and have never conceded a goal against, the Faroe Islands. Only one of those three previous meetings between the pair have produced over 3.5 goals, so you can see why we’ve backed a 2-0 win for Norway this Friday.

The form of the two countries heading into Friday’s clash only adds weight to our prediction for a home win, as Norway are unbeaten in their last fourteen home games and the Faroe Islands haven’t won any of their last ten games away from home.

The performances of both teams and their individual home and away records leading into Friday’s match provide even more reason to back a 2-0 win for the hosts. Only two of Norway’s last fifteen matches have seen over 3.5 goals scored and only four of Faroe Islands last thirteen matches have produced over 3.5 goals, two of those were against the former World and European champions Spain. Norway have only scored more than two goals in two of their last sixteen matches and have kept clean sheets in six of their last nine competitive home games.

We’re confident that under 3.5 goals will be produced in Friday’s match and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-0 in favour of the hosts. Norway head into the game as the clear form favourites against a Faroe Islands side that have only won one of the Euro 2020 qualifiers. However, the hosts don’t often score a lot of goals in a game but do have an excellent record of clean sheets, especially in their own backyard and we believe this will see the home side through to a comfortable victory.
