Norwich vs Leeds Predictions

  • Leeds have won just two of their 12 competitive games this season, with both victories coming at Elland Road.
  • Norwich have drawn two of their last three matches.
  • Leeds have played out five draws in all competitions this season.

Canaries dealt cruel blow at Stamford Bridge

Norwich kicked off last Saturday’s Premier League schedule in embarrassing fashion as they capitulated to a 7-0 demolition at Stamford Bridge but the relegation candidates could add to their meagre points tally this weekend.

Prior to that defeat to Chelsea, Daniel Farke’s side had actually looked like they were making progress with back-to-back draws and clean sheets against Burnley and Brighton and while they have lost four of their six home games this term two of those defeats came against Liverpool and another against Leicester.

Leeds’ struggles continue

Leeds, despite their excellent first season back in the top flight, are nowhere near the level of those top teams right now and head into this weekend all the way down in 17th position.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side fell to a 2-0 loss at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup in midweek and have won just two of their 12 competitive games this season, one of which was a home meeting with League One outfit Crewe.

The Whites’ sole league win of the season also came at Elland Road as they narrowly edged out Watford and they are still suffering from injuries, with Patrick Bamford, Robin Koch and Luke Ayling all ruled out this weekend and Raphinha, Junior Firpo and Jamie Shackleton also doubts.

 Norwich to claim valuable point

This is a big chance for Norwich to grab a much-needed point or more. Leeds are yet to win a competitive away game this season and they have won just three of their last 12 meetings with the Canaries. I’m backing the hosts in the double chance market on Sunday.

I’m not expecting much in the way of goals, though. Two of Norwich’s last three have ended goalless and these teams have scored just ten league goals between them this season. Five of Leeds’ last 11 have been all square after 90 minutes, so a 0-0 correct score prediction is my preference.

Norwich predicted lineup: Krul; Kabak, Hanley, Omobamidele; Aarons, Gilmour, Lees-Melou, Williams; Dowell, Rashica, Pukki

Leeds predicted lineup: Meslier; Llorente, Struijk, Cooper; Raphinha, Klich, Phillips, Dallas, James; Roberts; Rodrigo

  • Norwich have failed to score in their last four Premier League matches
  • Two of Norwich’s last three Premier League games have finished 0-0
