Wolverhampton 2-1 @ 17/2

Reason For Norwich vs Wolves Predictions

  • Norwich’s Premier League home games are averaging 4.125 goals per 90 minutes this season.
  • Wolves are unbeaten in six Premier League away fixtures.
  • Norwich were turned over in five of their last six games at Carrow Road.
  • Wolves conceded at least once in six of their eight Premier League matches on the road this term.

Wins proving elusive for Norwich

In an unlikely turn of events, relegation candidates Norwich City ended Leicester City’s nine-match Premier League winning streak last weekend, when they held the high-flying Foxes to a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium.

The result pushed Norwich’s winless run to four games, though it didn’t offer a positive salve for the Canaries after successive defeats to Southampton and Sheffield United directly before that.

On Saturday, Norwich return to Carrow Road, where they have endured a pretty miserable time since their summer promotion. City were beaten in four of their last five Premier League games in East Anglia, and their wonderful 3-2 triumph over defending champions Man City there in September feels like a lifetime ago.

Supporters frequenting Carrow Road this season have at least been treated to plenty of goalmouth action and excitement, with 4.125 goals scored per 90 minutes of top-flight action there since August.

With the Canaries mixing some promising attacking play with plenty of calamitous defending, over 2.5 goals were registered and both teams scored in seven of Norwich’s eight Premier League home games this term, and we expect that high-scoring pattern to continue unabated this weekend.

Wolves’s unlucky to lose unbeaten run

Wolves make the trek east to Norwich on the back of their first Premier League defeat since mid-September, though Wanderers were unfortunate to see their 11-match unbeaten streak end in a 1-2 reverse at home to Tottenham last week.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were the better team for large swathes of their contest with Spurs, however a late Jan Vertonghen sucker punch denied them a share of the spoils even though their performance probably deserved even more than a point.

Away from Molineux, Wolves are unbeaten in six games, and it’s worth noting that over 2.5 goals were scored with both teams hitting the net in each of their last two assignments on the road.

Goals on the cards at Carrow Road

Clean sheets have been rare occurrences in general for Wolves when navigating game on their travels, and a record of just two clean sheets in eight away attempts this term suggests there is every chance Wanderers will concede again this weekend.

Wolves have the quality to eventually outscore Norwich however, and their superior class coupled with the commonality of high-scoring matches at Carrow Road makes the over 2.5 goals and both teams to score combination an attractive market for Saturday’s game.

Norwich’s incredibly leaky rearguard shipped two or more goals in 100% of their last seven Premier League home games, and exactly two goals in each of their last three run outs at Carrow Road.

Wolves rattled the net exactly twice in eight separate top-flight fixtures already this term, and we’re backing Wanderers to notch two more in our correct score forecast that tips the away side to emerge with a 2-1 win.
