Nottingham Forest vs Bolton Predictions
The East Midlands club are unbeaten in 10 matches now but they are more plodding along than really playing the sort of football that suggests they are going to gatecrash the play-off places. They have drawn all of their last 4 matches and 6 of their last 7 so they haven’t really made the sort of progress that Dougie Freedman would have hoped for.
Forest remain in 14th place and are 12 points off the top six. With a trip to Middlesbrough next weekend, they will be determined to win this match and against a Bolton side that are struggling badly, they should be able to do that.
Neil Lennon’s side are scrapping and haven’t been completely cut adrift but with just 2 wins all season, it is still looking bleak for the Lancashire club. They put in another decent performance in midweek in a tough game away at Sheffield Wednesday. Goals from Gary Madine and David Wheater twice levelled the match but they conceded with 13 minutes to go and fell to a 3-2 defeat.
Their away form over the past 12 months has been shocking with just one win on the road since last January. They have lost 17 of their last 23 Championship away games picking up just 8 points and there is surely value here in backing a Forest side that have won 5 of their last 7 at home at 8/11.
Bolton are being relatively positive still which is admirable for a side in their position and have scored at least once in 8 of their last 11 games. They might nick one here but Forest have looked good at home over the past couple of weeks and they could punish a poor Bolton defence with a 3-1 win, which can be backed at 14/1.
