Nottingham Forest vs Hull City Predictions
- No Championship side picked up more points than Forest across the last 15 rounds.
- Nottingham Forest have kept three consecutive clean sheets at home.
- Hull have just a 27% win rate as pre-match outsiders in the league this term.
Tricky Trees to outclass Tigers
Of the games that remain on in the Championship despite the spate of postponements, this one looks to be the hardest to call as two sides both unbeaten in at least six matches face off at the City Ground.
Considering the latter, home advantage could be key here. Forest accrued a league-high 30 points in the period following the removal of Chris Hughton as manager (W8, D6, L1) which includes a return of six goals over their last two games. Consequently, confidence runs high in Nottingham ahead of this festive send off.
Resurgent Tigers could get mauled
The comeback is always greater than the setback, and this is especially true for Hull City, who have lifted themselves from 23rd place to be four points clear of the drop zone with their current run. However, this is still a side that lost five straight games prior to that and can certainly be unlocked.
The only two sides that Hull beaten away from home during their current positive run are other sides placed below themselves ahead of the round while the draw even came against relegation-threatened Reading. As such, this presents a much tougher challenge against promotion-chasing Forest.
On the evidence, I predict that Nottingham Forest will come out on top in a workmanlike 2-0 victory to extend their run of home clean sheets to an impressive four.
