Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

With neither side holding clear favouritism and so much at stake, we can see this one needing penalties to be settled. As such, we’re going for a 1-1 draw!

Nottingham Forest vs Wolverhampton Predictions

  • Nottingham Forest have kept just one clean sheet from five games since the World Cup break.
  • Both teams have scored in three of Wolves’ last four matches.
  • Wolves haven’t kept a clean sheet away from home since August.

Tricky Trees will give it a go

It seems surreal that directly following a 4-1 humbling to Championship opposition in the FA Cup, Nottingham Forest have a crunch quarter final clash to manoeuvre just a few days later. Steve Cooper’s men must be much tougher this time around, though just one clean sheet from the last five games hardly inspires confidence in Forest’s leaky backline.

Forest have a rather worrying injury list with the likes of Lingard, Awoniyi and Neco Williams all major doubts for this clash. However, a return of seven goals across their last five matches suggests that they will be up for this one with Brennan Johnson and Sam Surridge expected to lead the line.

Wolves can bare their teeth

Controversies aside, Wolverhampton Wanderers did amazingly well to grab a 2-2 draw at Anfield in the FA Cup, subsequently setting up a replay. That game continued a leaky trend for Wolves though as they’re without a clean sheet in any of their last seven competitive away games in a run stretching back to August.

Wolves have some injury worries of their own but they should have more than enough quality up top to trouble Nottingham Forest with the likes of Adama Traore, Guedes and Jimenez set to unleash a barrage of attacks.

Both teams have scored in just one of the last six meetings between these sides, although with so much at stake we’re going for just that for our main selection. To complete our predictions, we’re going for a small stakes bet on a 1-1 draw in the correct score market, a result which would set up a tasty penalty shootout!
