Oldham vs Macclesfield Predictions
Given their financial plight and the departure of Sol Campbell as boss, Macclesfield were predicted by many to be strugglers in League Two, but although there remains plenty of time for things to go wrong, they have had a pretty solid start to the campaign. This weekend they make the trip to face off against an Oldham Athletic side who will be determined to improve on a pretty slow start to the campaign.
It has been a difficult start to the season for Oldham as they have struggled to get over the line so far. However, although they have not exactly been outplayed, they know that they need to learn to put a game to bed if they are to climb the table. The hosts have no trouble finding the back of the net on a regular basis, but with one of the worst defensive records in the division at the moment, it is clear to see the area which needs to be improved on.
Macclesfield Town have so far defied the odds and are not currently involved in a relegation scrap that many expected. The Silkmen have claimed a solid 17 points in their 13 outings so far this term and given that they recorded a 2-1 victory over Port Vale last time out, they will be confident of being able to secure another three points this weekend. However, prior to that win they have had failed to get the three points in their last seven league matches so they will be hoping to put that whole period behind them.
Both of these sides have pretty similar problems in that they are strong enough in front of goal, however, they have both had issues keeping the opposition at bay in recent matches. With both needing three points to climb the table, we think that this match should be pretty attacking. Given the defensive frailties of both of these sides, we cannot see a result which sees one of the defenses coming out on top, so backing both teams to score looks to be the way to go.
For those of you looking to back a correct score tip, we also have you covered. Although we expect both teams to find the back of the net, we cannot pick a winner. With this in mind, we are going for an entertaining stalemate with a 2-2 draw.
