Palermo vs Fiorentina Predictions
Palermo start 2016 looking to snap a disappointing stretch where they’ve lost three of their last four games. They lost to Sampdoria 2-0 during a poor stretch for that club, 3-0 to Atalanta and 3-0 to Juventus, their one win came against another slumping side in Frosinone.
They’re 16th in the table and their problems are significant at both ends of the field. They keep leaking goals and they don’t have much potency at the other end of the field.
They’ll face a tough task first up after the Christmas break with Fiorentina coming to town. 2nd place in Serie A, just one point behind Inter Milan in first, but probably quite aware of the charing Juventus in fourth. Fiorentina have enjoyed a positive campaign for the most part so far and entered the break with a solid 2-0 win at home against Chievo. They have games against Lazio and AC Milan following this one in January making it important to put together a little momentum now.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Palermo are not good
We really struggle to have any sort of belief in this Palermo side. They’ve got enough experience and talent to be dangerous at home, but we just don’t see them competing against Fiorentina, who should dominate ball possession and control the pace of the game.
2. Fresh Fiorentina
Before the winter break, Fiorentina had gotten a little bogged down with their fixture list including Europa League action and the Coppa Italia, where they suffered a disappointing home defeat to Carpi.
3. Like Fiorentina at 5/6
It’s hard to look past 5/6 as odds, even for a slightly erratic Fiorentina side playing away from home.
