      PAOK vs Krasnodar Predictions

The two games between these sides are likely to prove decisive in determining who goes through in this group. Borussia Dortmund are currently and as you would expect leading the standings and it is very hard to see them not qualifying. Meanwhile it would be a big surprise to see Azerbaijani side Gabala progressing so that leaves these two most likely fighting it out for one place.

With the first match of the double-header in Greece and with PAOK trailing Krasnodar by 1 point the onus will really be on the hosts to be more the attacking side and try to dictate the pace. PAOK held Dortmund to a 1-1 draw last time out in a match they were leading for a long period and are generally quite strong at home in Europe.

Their Europa League home record reads just 6 defeats in 27 matches and they have won 5 of their last 8 at Stadio Toumbas in this competition. They have only failed to score in 1 of those 8 matches and are generally fairly positive on home soil.

Krasnodar have only failed to score in 1 of their last 6 Europa League away games though and both teams have netted in all of their last 4 matches in all competitions. Therefore we should see goals at both ends in this one and you can back that to be the case at 5/6.

In terms of quality there is very little to choose between the sides and it is hard to pick a winner here. PAOK’s strong home record suggests they will be able to avoid defeat but Krasnodar are perhaps slightly the stronger side and will be more and more content with a draw the longer the game goes on given they’d go into the return meeting with a point lead on PAOK as well as home advantage.

Therefore this one could well end up all square and consider backing a 1-1 draw at 11/2.
